Place: Boston (Fenway), Waymarking

This mark was put in to be my 700th waymark. I was there to take a tour of the venerable ballpark with a group. The guide sure was a character, and, after he got away from the more ‘colorful’ jokes, he turned out to be a good storyteller. Being a life-long Bostonian and follower of the Red Sox – including that World Series in 1986 while in college in Cleveland, OH – I’ve heard just about everything associated with the team and the park. Yet, he still told a couple that I didn’t know – like where the ball from the “longest home run hit from the park” finally rested (you’ll have to go on the tour). Unlike Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington, though, we didn’t go into the locker rooms or the dugouts. There was a movie being made under the stadium seats, so every once in a while we were interrupted by recorded gun fire and strobe lights (Ben Affleck was making the movie, The Town).
