Around the Emerald Necklace in Boston

I am a big fan of Frederick Law Olmsted, said to be the first landscape architect. So, I’ve wanted to log at least one of the Emerald Necklace Parks in the Olmsted Designed Parks category. As it is, I was able to log two: Olmsted Park, and http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM74TP_Jamaica_Pond_Park_Emerald_Necklace_Boston_MA. It has been interesting to read the histories and find out some of the changes made to these parks over time. For instance, the boat house was added in 1913 (the parks were built in 1891), and Olmsted Park has playing fields.

Aside from the fact that they are Olmsted Parks, they are still very beautiful to walk through.
