600 Waymarks

On June 28, I reached the 600th posted waymark, which was the Herrs Island Overlook in Pittsburgh, PA.

Waymark postings have been in three states: Massachusetts – Boston, Cambridge, Needham, Newton, and Watertown; Rhode Island – North Kingstown; and Pennsylvania – Pittsburgh, Moon Township, and Washington. Pennsylvania is a new state that I logged postings, so the total of states is now 10.

Waymark visits have been in primarily Boston, Massachusetts, and Pittsburgh, PA. In Pittsburgh, I logged 50% more visits compared to the number I already had.

I have now posted to 207 waymarking categories. The top 14 are listed below (screen shot of web page at waymarking.com). There definitely has been some reordering. Massachusetts Historical Markers is still way ahead of the next category, but it now comprises just over 25% of all postings. U.S. Benchmarks is now clearly 2nd, with National Register of Historic Landmarks, 3rd, then Masonic Temples 4th.

I have a backlog to enter. However, activity in general will be slower due to the fact that I’m moving to a new place next month.
