Waymarks Around Old Quonset NAS in N. Kingstown, RI

The old Quonset Naval Air Station in North Kingstown still has an airfield, though it is now in public hands. There are structures that have lasted from the Naval air station days, but a significant portion has been turned over to commercial ventures. However, here are a few waymarks that relate to its previous use.

The Quonset Air Museum is a good place to start. There are many aircraft here, and there are historical displays of the old Naval air station. Here, I had a personal tour of the place from someone who even flew one or two of the aircraft on display. He was apologetic that it would only take about 45 minutes to get through it, but I loved it.

The Quonset huts at the Seabee Museum have a connection, here. These mostly half-cylindrical structures were desinged here and many were manufactured, in the area, as well.
