Norstar's Waymarking Stats

On 01-20-09, Innaguration Day, I successfully posted my 400th waymark, which was the “Sit By Me” statue, Circle of Peace.

While I don’t get a virtual medal for this achievement, (waymarking.com has icons that represent medals for reaching  25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 and so forth waymarks posted, and another set for visits), reaching 400 is still satisfying.

This was an active period between 300 waymarks, achieved in October 2008, and 400.  During this period, I posted waymarks in Illinois, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.  In particular, I explored the city of Peoria as the Illinois River was swollen from rain dumped the previous weeks from the remnants of hurricanes Gustave and Ike; looked at a wind farm in its final phase of construction, a ship lock, and other sights in a side trip to  Marseilles, IL;  seen a beautifully preserved mill down in Harrisville, NH; explored an old tunnel, a dam, a factory, and and old ballfield claimed to be the oldest in the world in Clinton, MA;  visited Thoreau’s Walden Pond in Concord, MA;  explored Massachusetts Avenue from MIT to Harvard University in Cambridge, MA; the Trinity Church and Hancock Tower in Boston; the old Boston Manufacturing Company factory complex in Waltham, MA; chilly and snowy New Years celebrations in Needham, and stopped by the Fairbanks House, the oldest wood framed house in America, in Dedham.  I am logged in 9 states and 1 province in Canada.

Waymarks have been placed in all 15 “Divisions” (The last, Animals, in Dec. 07) Different Categories: 135 Number of states/provinces/regions with Waymarks logged/visited: 9 states (U.S.), 1 province (Canada).

I have posts in 135 different categories. These are:
